Soil and Water Sampling
- Soil samples – Our soil sampler is a stainless steel split barrel sampler for taking relatively undisturbed 35mm diameter pushed samples from discrete intervals in either clean or impacted soils. The sampler is advanced using the CPT rods to the top of the desired strata. A wireline then trips an internal catch which releases the conical pushing tip and the sampler is advanced 0.5 meters (the total length of the sample). The sampler is then retreived and the stainless steel split barrel is removed from the sampler where the soil sample can either be removed from the split barrel or the split barrel can be prepared for laboratory analysis. Our operators have current 40-hour OSHA safety training and are very experienced with both environmental and geotechnical sampling and decontamination procedures.
- Water Samples – Water samples can be taken either through the soil, CPT rods or casing rods - which are advanced with a cutting shoe at the end of the drill string. Other water sampling methods are possible by advance arrangement.
