Our equipment includes a 20-ton CPT cabin rig mounted on a tandem-axle 2006 Peterbilt chassis (2005), and a 15-ton CPT cabin mounted on a 2009 Morooka rubber track carrier .
Our CPT rigs are truly state-of-the-art equipment in both quality of construction and integrated technology and we are confident are the absolute best multi-purpose CPT rigs in North America. The automated hydraulic controls in our rigs allow us to produce highly accurate CPT data at an extraordinary rate of production. Our average rate is 400'-600' per rig per day, although we have completed over 900' of CPT sounding on two consecutive days in our truck rig. Production this high allows us to gather more data in less time and reduce our client's overall field investigative costs.
Each CPT rig consists of the following elements.
- CPT Cabin –
Contains a 20-ton CPT Pushing Unit with Rotap rotary drilling attachment. Automated hydraulic controls operate the pushing system. An industrial, touch-screen Windows XP computer controls the data acquisition system and/or hydraulic functions and allows incredible flexibility for data storage, data transfer, networking and expansion. The cabins include climate control for comfortable year-round field work. Either one or two operators can operate the CPT rig depending on project needs. A dedicated work area is provided in the CPT cabin for our client's onsite field staff. Each rig is equipped with up to at least 80 total meters of CPT rods and 10 meters of CPT casing. A Moyno grout and water pump is used for grouting, cleaning and to pump the drilling fluid for core drilling .
- Truck Chassis –
2005 Peterbilt Model 335 6x4. The total truck weight is approximately 43,000lbs with approx. pushing capacity of 18kN (approximately 20 tons). Regarding spring road restrictions, individual axle weights are under 8 tons which allows the truck to drive on most roads without overweight permits. The truck is equipped with locking differentials and locking axles which provide excellent performance on unimproved sites.
- Track Chassis -
The 2009 rubber-track chassis has a total weight of approximately 32,000 lbs and approximate pushing capacity of 15kN. The base is a 2009 Morooka 1500 which we have modified in our shop to be within legal width (no other Morooka carrier in the US of any type has this modification). This allows us to haul our equipment at a lowered mob cost and with no weekend, holiday or night-time restrictions. Our equipment can be on your site when it is needed. Period. The tracks are very wide with a low ground pressure (less than 5psi). The unit is also relatively fast with speeds up to 8mph. Due to it's rubber tracks, this unit can travel over concrete or asphalt without damage. Spring road restrictions and crossing roads is not an issue for this rig. A very low center of gravity and powerful motor allow this rig to travel where ever it is needed.
