Developments - A constant!

Just because we are adding a new rig to our stable doesn't mean we are neglecting other developments to improve our services. Here are a few of the new developments we have completed this year to date (I will expand on some of these in future posts): read more...

- Purchased digital, seismic iCone equipment to start our migration to this stronger, more durable, more portable, and more expandable data acquisition system.
- fabricated standalone equipment to push seismic CPT from a drill rig or any other sort of equipment (from a barge, bulldozer, geoprobe, etc.).
- Purchased and successfully used the Van den Berg vane shear testing equipment in May of this year. I believe we may be the first company in the U.S. to successfully have this equipment working on a project. The data has been enthusiastically recieved and we are working with Van den Berg to improve the productivity of the equipment.
- Developed improved tools for organizing and presenting our data. We now provide a table which presents all completed locations, the recorded GPS coordinates, total soundings completed, total depth achieved, and which locations have other test data, (Vane testing, DMT testing, dissipation testing or seismic testing). Very helpful for large projects with lots of soundings.
- Fabricated tooling which has allowed us to easily push Geokon drive point piezometers to depths of approximately 70 feet (so far, although deeper pushes are possible).

These are the major developments, minor developments include fabricating tools and refining our techniques to more effectively deair our cone equipment, improved seismic analysis tools (especially for compression testing), improved the interior layout of our truck with new tool benches and racks for strung rods for DMT, added a coffee maker inside the truck (why did THAT take so long?).
